Online international science workshop "asian legal history"
Update day: 10-09-2021On July 24 and 25, 2021, the University of Law, Hue University cooperated with the Chinese University of Hong Kong to organize the online international scientific conference "Asian Legal History".
Attending the seminar, on the side of Chinese University of Hong Kong, there were Associate Professor Christopher Robert; Associate Professor Bui Ngoc Son, University of Oxford; speakers and conference participants. On the side of University of Law, there were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Doan Duc Luong, Rector; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Duy Phuong, Vice Rectors; Heads and Deputy Heads of departments and together with delegates and scientists attending the Workshop.
Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Duy Phuong stated: (1) The conference has been known as a prestigious and expected scientific event among scholars on the topic of Asian Legal History, has brought together top experts of the area and the world to discuss issues of Asian legal history. (2) A meeting point, connection and sharing between people with common interests in the region in general and in Vietnam in particular, creating a continuation of the international community's interest in the region's history in general as well as on issues of Vietnamese history in particular, creating connections between generations of scholars and between related fields. (3) Create impetus for the study of History at home and abroad.
The workshop had 118 papers presented at the "International Scientific Conference on "Asian Legal History" with 8 outstanding topics by the Chinese University of Hong Kong in collaboration with the University of Law, Hue University. The conference attracted many scholars from ASEAN countries such as Vietnam, China, Japan, Korea, Pakistan, Indonesia, etc.
In summarizing the workshop, Conference chairing committee evaluated the contents achieved. The workshop has contributed to the exchange between cultures; the historical similarities and national traditions of Asian countries have created favorable conditions for the harmonization of laws in the process of law-making of countries. The opinions exchanged at the workshop, and the articles have contributed to raise understanding and awareness of regional and international understanding and awareness in various aspects such as history, politics, economy, legal, environment, culture. After the conclusion of the workshop, the presentations and articles will be printed as a document for the research, teaching and learning of lecturers and students in the field.
