On the morning of November 20, 2024, University of Law, Hue University (Hue University of Law) solemnly hosted a ceremony to commemorate the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 – November 20, 2024). The event was an occasion to honor and express gratitude to all lecturers, visiting professors, experts, scientists, and staff of the university.

Distinguished guests and attendees

The ceremony was attended by various notable figures. Representatives from Hue University included:

• Dr. Le Van Tuong Lan, Head of Training and Student Affairs.

• Dr. Nguyen Cong Hao, Head of Inspection and Legal Affairs, and a member of the University Council.

• Dr. Le Nam Hai, former Deputy Head of Training and Student Affairs.

Among the invited guests were:

• Associate Professor Dr. Le Thanh Son, former Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and former Deputy Director of Hue University.

• Lieutenant Colonel Dao Duy Binh, Deputy Head of the PA03 Department, Thua Thien Hue Provincial Police.

Additionally, many lawyers, scientists, managers, legal firms, and visiting lecturers were present.

From University of Law, the event was attended by:

• Associate Professor Dr. Doan Duc Luong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector.

• Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Duy Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Rector.

• Dr. Nguyen Hong Son, Chairman of the University Council.

Other attendees included former university leaders, department heads, lecturers, staff, and students.

Achievements and future plans

During the 2024–2025 academic year, the university plans to conduct external quality assessments for two postgraduate programs: the Master’s in Economic Law and the Doctorate in Economic Law. The university has also developed a self-governance proposal for organizational and financial management for the 2024–2026 period.

Furthermore, preparations are underway for the 10th anniversary of the university’s establishment (March 3, 2015 – March 3, 2025). The institution remains committed to enhancing the quality of education, fostering scientific research, promoting innovation, and strengthening international integration in education.

In the past year, the university celebrated significant milestones, including:

• Two lecturers being recognized and conferred the title of Associate Professor by the State Council for Professorship.

• One lecturer successfully defending doctoral dissertation abroad six months ahead of schedule and returning to contribute to the university.

Rector’s Address

In his speech, Associate Professor Dr. Doan Duc Luong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector, extended his heartfelt gratitude to all educators and leaders who have contributed to the university’s growth. He emphasized the importance of their dedication, which has laid the foundation for the university's current success.

He also called on all lecturers, staff, and students to uphold the traditions of the education sector and Hue University. He urged them to be proactive, innovative, and united in overcoming challenges and fulfilling their academic, research, and community service missions for the 2024–2025 academic year.

Honoring Excellence

The ceremony also included recognition of outstanding achievements:

• Two newly appointed Associate Professors, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Hong Trinh, Head of the International Law Faculty, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Viet Long, Head of the Training Department. 

• Newly awarded Doctor Phan Vinh Tuan Anh, a lecturer from the Economic Law Faculty.

Additionally, the university awarded:

• Ten lecturers and staff for their outstanding contributions to scientific research.

• Nine lecturers for their exceptional guidance of students in research projects that received university-level awards.

• Lecturers who coached students in competitions, including the “Vietnam Commercial Mediation Competition” (V-Med) and the “Creative Student  and Intellectual Property Rights” Competition.

Closing Remarks

Hue University of Law expressed its gratitude to all distinguished guests, provincial leaders, Hue University officials, partner institutions, alumni, and students who sent congratulatory flowers and messages to the university.

This celebration served not only as a tribute to past and present educators but also as a reaffirmation of the university's commitment to academic and professional excellence.
