Opening cremory and the Plenary Session 1
At the Forum, a delegation from the University of Law hosted and chaired a panel titled “Constitutionalism and the Rule of Law in Vietnam”. The panel delved into the unique and multifaceted aspects of the rule of law and constitutionalism in contemporary Vietnam. Constitutionalism and the rule of law in Vietnam are considered indispensable for ensuring justice, accountability, and the equilibrium of structures and institutions.

The panel explored the theoretical underpinnings, specific practices, and comparative studies shaping Vietnam's ongoing efforts to reshape its legal and political structures within the current context. The panel featured four presentations focusing on various related aspects of the topic:
Dr. Le Thi Nga’s presentation, titled “Determining the principles of delegation, coordination and control of state power in the 2013 Constitution of Vietnam from Constitutionalism”, addressed the principles evinced in the 2013 Constitution of Vietnam relating to the delegation, coordination and control of state power.

Dr. Đang Cong Cuong and LLM. Tran Thi Dieu Ha’s presentation, titled “Defending independent judges: Practice in Vietnam”, addressed the principle of judges’ independence, which can be called the principle of the rule of law.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đoan Đuc Luong and LLM. Le Ngoc Phu’presentation, title “Controlling the state power in Vietnam under the 2013 Constitution”, addressed the power control as one of the fundamental processes in the system of governance, which facilitates the prevention of power abuse and sustainable development.

LLM. Hoang Thi Ai Quynh and LLM. Vo Thi Kim Anh’s presentation, titled “The mechanisms for the protection of constitution in the constitutions of ASEAN members and the lessons for Vietnam”, addressed a new problem by studying the mechanisms of constitutional protection in the member countries of ASEAN.

The 10th Asian Constitutional Law Forum is the largest forum on constitutional law in Asia. The Forum is a good opportunity to exchange and update research orientations on Constitutional Law. By attending the conference, the University of Law, Hue University strengthen cooperation and share experiences between experts, universities, and research institutes in the region and around the world.
