The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) founded in 1980 is one of the most successful international treaties in the field of trade. This Convention applies to sales contracts between buyers and sellers having their registered offices in countries which are members of the Convention. On December 18th, 2015, Vietnam officially ratified its accession to the CISG to become the 84th member of the Convention. The Vienna Convention went into effect on January 1st.

Many Moot Arbitration Contest on CISG is designed continuously in recent years to give students valuable opportunities to learn and apply the CISG as well as the ability to resolve disputes by arbitration. Around the world, there are a number of Moot contests on CISG such as Vismoot in Vienna, Vismoot in Hong Kong, Pre-moot in Malaysia, etc.

Following the success of Vietnam CISG Pre-moot 2019 - the first contest in the form of a Moot arbitration on the CISG in Vietnam, Vietnam CISG Pre-moot 2020 has been held since December 14, 2019 to March 08, 2020 by the Foreign Trade University (FTU) in the cooperation with Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC), Vietnam Society of International Law (VSIL) and Vietnam Business Lawyer Club (VBLC).  The contest has quickly attracted a large number of law students from leading law training institutions in Vietnam such as Foreign Trade University, Diplomatic Academy, Hanoi Law University, Law Faculty - Hanoi National University, National Economics University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, University of Economics and Law (UEL), Can Tho University, Ho Chi Minh City Academy of Officials, People's Public Security Political Academy, Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology, Dong A University and University of Law - Hue University.

On March 8, 2020, Vietnam CISG Pre-moot 2020 has finally released its final results including:

➖ Second Prize: Hawk Eyes

➖ Third Prize: Light Bringers, Pet Project

➖ Best Outline: DAV Vis (East) moot 2020

➖ Best Oralist: Trương Tấn Dũng - The Framers

➖ Most Favorite Team: Inevitabilis

The "TEAM 99" of University of Law, Hue University participated in the contest with 3 members including students Tran Van Hoang, Diem Trinh and Vo Thi Kim Anh. Outstandingly passing the Preliminary round with more than 35 rival teams and then entering the Top 16 to the Oral Hearings round, our TEAM 99, although not able to go deeper into the next rounds, has shown excellently spirit, bravery and intellect of students from University of Law, Hue University.

Thank you so much for the effort of TEAM 99 and the companion of the teachers during the past time for the University of Law, Hue University’s identity. We all believe that the other teams of the University of Law, Hue University will achieve higher achievements in the following contests.
