Signing Ceremony for Memorandum of Understanding with Beijing Foreign Studies University
Update day: 15-04-2024On December 13, 2023, the College of Law at Hue University welcomed a delegation from Beijing Foreign Studies University for a visit and collaborative session.
Attending the working session and signing the MOU were key representatives from the Beijing Foreign Studies University, China: Prof. Dr. Wang Ding Hua, Secretary of Beijing University of Foreign Studies; Prof. Dr. He Jing, Head of the International Cooperation Department; Prof. Dr. Xu Ye, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Institute of Asian Studies; Associate Professor Dr. Wang Ming Yang, Vice Principal of the School of International Education; Prof. Dr. Mi Liang, Dean of the Law School; and Guan Xin, Specialist from the International Cooperation Department.
Welcoming the delegation, the University of Law, Hue University was represented by Associate Professor, PhD Doan Duc Luong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Principal; Associate Professor, PhD Nguyen Duy Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Principal; Dr. Nguyen Hong Son, Chairman of the School Council; Dr. Cao Dinh Lanh, Head of the Department of Science, Technology, and International Cooperation; along with faculty members serving as deputy heads of various faculties, centers, and departments within the university.
Speaking at the working session, Associate Professor, PhD Doan Duc Luong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Principal of the College of Law at Hue University, expressed his delight in welcoming the delegation from Beijing University of Foreign Studies to collaborate at the university. He highlighted this visit as a result of ongoing exchanges initiated in December 2023 between Hue University's College of Law and Professor Me Luong. This occasion marks a significant advancement, underscoring the mutual commitment to international cooperation. Speaking at the meeting on behalf of the Delegation from the Beijing Foreign Studies University, Prof. Dr. Me Luong expressed, "In December 2023, we sent 10 students to visit and collaborate at HUL, and the warmth and hospitality we experienced then are still palpable as our delegation returns. To solidify our commitments, we are here today with a clear intention: to sign an MOU outlining specific criteria and content that will effectively evaluate the partnership between our universities and, by extension, our countries."
During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Wang Ding Hua, Secretary of Beijing University of Foreign Studies, shared his delight and enthusiasm upon his first visit to Hue, expressing his admiration for the scenery, culture, cuisine, and warmth of the people here. He noted that Beijing University of Foreign Studies offers not only foreign language training but also a robust law program. He emphasized his commitment to promoting peace and expressed a strong desire for students from his university to engage in exchanges and collaborations with Vietnamese universities, particularly with the University of Law at Hue University.
Dr. Cao Dinh Lanh, Head of the Department of Science, Technology, and International Cooperation, presented the key provisions of the MOU between the two entities, highlighting a commitment to cooperation based on principles of respect, mutual understanding, goodwill, equality, and mutually beneficial, non-discriminatory collaboration. The agreement also underscores compliance with respective countries' legal regulations and international treaties, aligned with each party's functions and responsibilities.

- Exchange of academic, faculty, and student matters
- Sharing teaching and training experiences
- Collaborating on project programs in legal research and education
- Exploring additional areas of mutual interest
Forms of cooperation include:
- Organizing workshops and symposiums
- Developing and executing student exchange programs, with potential scholarships
- Facilitating staff and faculty exchange programs
- Establishing short-term training initiatives and joint research projects
- Exchanging academic publications, textbooks, and other pertinent documents
- Supporting faculty in publishing articles in each party's scientific journals
- Exploring other collaborative opportunities as agreed upon
The MOU between the two units was signed in the presence of their respective leaders. The signing ceremony was successful, heralding the beginning of numerous practical and effective activities in the near future.
